Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22nd. Today, to mark the occasion, we hosted a special moment dedicated to sustainable learning.
We welcomed Pedro’s Garden for a «Composting for Beginners» workshop, organized by our Environment Department. During the session, our team members learned the basic principles of home composting and discovered how to create their own compost bins by repurposing… pallets!
Composting is a vital biological process where microorganisms break down organic waste - such as food scraps and garden clippings - into a nutrient-rich natural compost. In addition to regenerating soil, this process significantly reduces landfill waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
Carolina Cabral, the company’s Environment Manager, highlighted the importance of «reminding people that these small individual actions can have a real impact on our planet, even on a local scale.» She also emphasized that «activities like this help people understand that each of us can play a role in protecting the Earth.»
